Junior forward Ode Fulutudilu captured SSAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors, with her impressive play in the Lady Flames first two games of the year. The Lady Flames began the 2012 campaign in Florida, as a part of the Habitat for Humanity Classic.
Fulutudilu started things off with style scoring a hat trick and Lee’s first three goals of the season against No.19 Northwood (Fla.)
Led by Fulutudilu, the Lady Flames scored a 6-1 victory in their opening match. Lee split the two games in Florida, falling to Embry-Riddle on Sunday.
The Cape Town, South African native scored 14 goals for the Lady Flames last season, adding 13 assists. Fulutudilu is off to a fast start this season, as she looks to improve on her numbers from a year ago.
An exciting weekend of play is coming up for the Lady Flames as they will host the Lady Flames Classic. The action begins on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. with Olivet Nazarene facing Vanguard (Calif.) followed by the Lady Flames taking on Lindsey Wilson College. Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m., Vanguard (Calif.) will play Lindsey Wilson followed by Olivet Nazarene and Lee. Saturday’s games will be “Kicking it for Kids with Cancer” games that the Lady Flames host each year. Last year the game raised over $28,000 for kids with pediatric cancer. All proceeds go to the Austin Hatcher Foundation for pediatric cancer.
