Box Score
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – David Perez delivered the game-winner with 3:38 remaining in overtime to advance the Lee University men's soccer team past Mississippi College, 2-1, in the NCCAA Mid-East Region Championship.

It was Lee's 10 overtime match of the season. "These boys know how to compete," said coach Paul Furey. "They have a winning mentality, they don't let negative events affect their focus."

Lee (11-3-5) will face host and No. 1 seed Campbellsville University at 7 p.m. Saturday evening for the right to represent the region at the NCCAA National Championship. Campbellsville downed Union University 3-0 in Friday's other semifinal match.

Quade Marinell put Lee on top in the 82nd minute after collecting a pass from Eli Price. Marinell would later be credited with the assist on Perez's overtime goal.

"What a great night for our freshman," added Furey. "Quade had a terrific night with a great goal and setting up the winner in overtime. DP (David Perez) was composed and confident for the golden goal."

The Choctaws (11-4-3) responded and Garrett Head scored the equalizer with just over one minute remaining in regulation. Harrison Russell picked up the assist.

Lee edged Mississippi College 18 shots to 17, but the Flames were able to place 12 on target while the Choctaws put seven on frame. Lee recorded the only two shots of the overtime period.

Tom Halsall turned away six shots to earn the win in goal. Adam Pittman recorded nine saves, while Mississippi College added one team save to the mix.

"Once again our back line and Tommy (Halsall) were stellar," said Furey. "Great night for the Flames but we have one more to go."
