The Lee University men’s tennis team posted its second consecutive win with a 7-2 defeat of visiting Tennessee Wesleyan College Tuesday afternoon at the DeVos Tennis Center.

Lee (3-4) swept the doubles portion to take an early 3-0 lead. Richard Gamble and Daniel Hardesty downed Oleskii Lahuza and Bret Wade, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.

Vincent Audy and Kevin Tan were 8-4 winners over David Escobosa and Rodney Pineros, while Patrick Kim and Andre Ishida held off Gad Azulay and Francisco Gallardo for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.

Gamble won both sets against Lahuza by a 6-1 margin. Patrick Kim blanked Pineros in their first set and finished the match with a 6-3 score in the second set.

Hardesty outlasted Gallardo in the closest match of the day. Hardesty posted a 7-3 score in a first-set tie-breaker for the 7-6 first set victory. Hardesty was pushed to the limits in the second set before coming out on top 7-5.

Fabio Medina was pushed in his opening set by Azulay, but was able to claim the set, 7-5. Medina carried the momentum and easily won the second set, 6-1.

TWC (8-6) earned victories at No. 2 and No. 7 singles. Escobosa held off Audy 7-5 in the first set and closed the match at 6-2 in the second set.

Wade breezed to a 6-1 opening set before having to win the second set with a 7-3 mark in a tie-breaker.

The Flames will return to action on Saturday against Milligan College. The non-conference match is slated for an 11:30 a.m. start.
