The Lee Flames tennis team was defeated 8-1 by the University of North Georgia Wednesday evening at the DeVos Tennis Center.
Richard Gamble gave Lee (1-2) its lone point with a win at No. 2 singles. Gamble downed Rodrigo Magan in straight sets, winning the first set 6-1 and holding onto a 6-4 score in set two.
North Georgia (5-0) took a 3-0 lead following the doubles action. Magan teamed with Mateus Camasmie to defeat Gamble and Daniel Hardesty, 8-5. Kevin Tan and Vincent Audy had the same result against Alexander Reinauer and Cameron Mistr. Alberto Calle and Westley Lemke were beaten 8-2 by Giovani Santos and Sam Gantt.
The Flames have a week to prepare for their next match. Lee makes the short trip to Chattanooga to take on the Mocs February 26 at 2:30 p.m.
