Tennessee Wesleyan's Nduka Kemjika scored on a penalty kick in the first overtime to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 victory over the Flames at the Lee Soccer Field on Friday evening.

The Flames (3-2-1) watched a couple of opportunities slip away late in regulation. On the other hand, Wesleyan (2-2-1) took advantage of a Lee foul in the box with just over two minutes gone in the overtime period.

"This disappointment in the game wasn't so much the penalty kick in overtime, but more of the fact that we didn't finish our scoring opportunities," stated coach Paul Furey after the loss. "Credit Wesleyan for a good win on the road."

Lee out-shot the visitors 14-5. Each team had five shots on goal. Flames' goalkeeper Tom Halsall registered four saves, while TWC's Bogachan Akyildiz came up big in net, recording five saves. Wesleyan was awarded seven corner kicks and Lee had six.

"We played well in the second half and showed more energy," added the coach. "We created some good opportunities but just didn't get the job done. Tom (Halsall) played well in goal for us. Jay (Luzardo) did a fine job in his first start at the back. There were some positive things but it was a tough pill to swallow on our home field."

The Flames will have a few days to recover before hosting another non-conference opponent in Campbellsville University (Ky.) next Thursday night at 7 p.m.
