Clinton, Miss. – The Lee volleyball team wrapped up the 2015 season with a 3-1 victory over Mississippi College on Friday evening.
The Lady Flames stormed off the bus and won the first set, 25-21. Lee registered 18 kills and committed just one hitting error while posting a sizzling .548 attack percentage.
Lee would claim set two, 25-18 before the Choctaws rallied for a 25-21 win in set three to avoid the sweep. The Lady Flames would put the match away with a 25-18 victory in set four.
Silvia Sartori ended her freshman campaign with 18 kills and nine digs. Sartori paced the Lady Flames attack all year long with 384 slams on the season.
Catherine Conley solidified herself at the end of the year as a consistent scoring threat from her middle-blocker position. Conley tallied 12 kills and had three blocks. Brooke Wilsman followed with eight kills and led the team with a match-high four blocks.
Hillary Hoffpauir assisted on 42 points while Sarah Davis and Stephanie Hernandez ended her their careers at Lee with 15 and 14 digs respectively.
Mississippi College was led by Madison Frazier's 11 kills and three aces. Ashton King added 10 slams while Bailee Berringer tallied 25 assists.
The Lady Flames finish with a record of 13-17 overall and were 8-12 in GSC play. The Choctaws fall to 3-27 and are 1-17 in league play. Mississippi College will wrap up their season on Saturday against Shorter.
Coach Andrea Hudson feels the future is bright for her young squad as they look to next season, "We have a lot of young players who got great experience on the court this season," Hudson noted after Tuesday's match with Shorter.
