MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Christian Brothers University handed Lee a 3-0 defeat in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday evening.
The Bucs wasted no time in winning the first set 25-11 and then followed up with 25-20 and 25-21 decisions. Christian Brothers improves to 18-13 overall and the season ends for the Lady Flames with a 15-15 mark.
Blaire Beamer had nine kills for the Lady Flames. Brooke Wilsman followed with seven kills and three digs. Carly Callahan chipped in with five kills. Sadie Johnson had 15 assists and two aces, while Kristi Farley dished off 11 assists to go along with a pair of aces. MaKayla Beebe came up with 16 digs to go along with three assists and an ace.
In advancing to the Final Four at West Florida this weekend, Christian Brothers got 10 kills and two blocks from Mollie Wadsworth. Mary Kathryn Miller came away with nine kills and four blocks while Emma Lenoir countered with seven kills and two aces.
