Lee men's golf coach John Maupin has announced the signing of Connor Pollman, a member of the West Forsyth High School golf team in Cumming, Ga.

"Connor is a young man with strong character and comes from a great family," commented Maupin. "He will be an excellent representative of our program and university.  Connor has a great passion for the game and an excellent work ethic, both of which will be a tremendous asset to him in college.

"He came on really strong this summer and had some great finishes in big tournaments.  He has proven himself against some of the best competition in the country," added Maupin. "I still think he's just scratching the surface of what he's capable of.  I think Connor has a great opportunity to come in and make an impact on our team next year.  We are excited to officially have him join our team."

The latest Lee recruit also considering Armstrong State, Georgia College, and Valdosta State before deciding to become a member of the Flames

"The environment of Lee stood out to me the most as well as the culture that has been built within the golf program," explained Pollman. "Getting to be on campus and meet the players and coaches was key to me in making my decision.

"As soon as I got on campus, I felt that Lee would be a place where I can really have the chance to improve on the course and thrive in the classroom. I can't wait to get up to Lee to become a part of what Coach Maupin has created in the golf program."

At Lee, Pollman plans to earn a Business degree as well as develop his golf game to the point where he can play at the professional level. "It has been my goal to play professional golf and I feel that coming to Lee will give me the best chance to accomplish my goals on and off the course. I really feel that working with coach Maupin, and being a part of a very competitive program will help propel my game to the next level. I am excited to get up to Lee and compete for a national championship," he said in closing
