Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Lee University men's tennis team won 1-of-3 doubles matches and 3-of-6 singles matches in a 5-4 loss at No. 41 Young Harris College. The non-conference match was played at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex. The Flames (9-7) travel to Banner Elk, N.C., to take on Lees-McRae College on Friday at 2 p.m. EDT.
Karl Hulten and Charles Jabaley picked up an 8-4 win over Brecht Vangrinsven and Jan-Niklas Graetz at No. 3 doubles. Alex Pavel and Raul Quevedo evened the team score with an 8-4 defeat of Eirik Groner and Jake Okines. Daniel Tiboldi and Alejandro Ridruejo held off Rhys Milne and Boyd Blackburn, 8-6, to give Young Harris (9-6) a 2-1 lead following doubles competition.
Quevedo increased the YHC lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jabaley at No. 5 singles. Groner beat Vangrinsven 6-4, 6-1 and Hulten was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Ridruejo to even the team score at 3-3.
Pavel regained the lead with a 6-3, 6-4 defeat of Blackburn. Graetz edged Westley Lemke 6-4 and 7-5 to record the fifth team point and clinch the team win.
Milne needed a 9-7 tie-breaker to win his first set against Tiboldi, 7-6. Milne registered the straight-set win with a 6-4 mark in the second set.
