MONTEVALLO, Ala. -  The Lee softball team swept day one of the Falcon Frenzy with an 11-3 victory over Tuskegee and a 2-0 blanking of Mobile on Saturday.

The Lady Flames are now 8-2 on the season and will wrap up the event with games against Ursuline and the University of Indianapolis on Sunday.

LEE 2 MOBILE 0

Leigh Beatenbough worked a complete game shutout and struck out four to lead the Lady Flames over the University of Mobile, 2-0 in Saturday's nightcap.

AnnaBeth Pruett provided the offense for Lee in the fifth inning as she tripled home Beatenbough and scored on a wild pitch. Zoe Miller would add a double for the Lady Flames while Beatenbough, Abby McKinney and Kayla Louie each had one-base knocks.

Hope Cain was the tough luck loser as she worked six innings for the Rams and allowed just five hits and two runs while striking out six.

Beatenbough, a junior from Canon, Ga. worked around a Lewis triple in the top of the seventh inning by striking out Sprayberry before inducing a popout from Rowland and a strikeout of Wood.

Thanks to an eight-run explosion in the bottom of the fifth the Lee softball team fired past Tuskegee, 11-3 in game one of the Falcon Frenzy hosted by the University of Montevallo.

Brooklynn Frazier started the rally with a double to left center scoring two runs. Zoe Miller then singled her home on a bullet up the middle. Rachel Polacek followed with a RBI single before Courtney Crawford ripped a RBI double down the left field line.

Kayla Louie would bring home the sixth run on a groundout and Abby McKinney would cap things off with a walk-off two-run single to right center to seal the run-rule victory.

McKinney finished the contest with three hits and earned her fourth-win of the young season in the circle for the Lady Flames as she allowed just one unearned run and two hits over three innings while striking out six batters.

Crawford continued her torrid start at the plate with two doubles, a single, two runs scored and two RBI. AnnaBeth Pruett also had two hits as the Lee offensive had 13 hits and four extra-base hits.

Jasmine Howard doubled, singled and scored two runs for the Tigers while Nadia Ponder started the scoring off with a two-run homer to center field in the top of the second.
