CLEVELAND, Miss./MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Lee University men's tennis team posted a pair of Gulf South Conference wins on Sunday. The Flames defeated Delta State University 5-1 in the morning and took down Christian Brothers University, 5-0, late in the evening. Lee has now won nine of its last 10 matches to improve to 9-3 overall and 4-2 within the conference.
Next on the schedule for the Flames is Tennessee Wesleyan University. The non-conference match is set for Apr. 3 at 2 p.m.

"The men did a good job of taking care of business tonight," said Lee head coach Patric Hynes.
Teodor Deljanovski and Jordan Knott opened the team scoring with an 8-0 win over Daniel D'Alto and Swamy Sriraman. Daniel Prata and Wes Lemke defeated Nick Cotros and Max Wilson 8-1, while Rhys Milne and Igor Schattan took down Nick Wiseman and Austin Essary by an 8-4 mark.
Prata dropped just one game to beat Wilson at No. 4 singles. Lemke won 6-1, 6-1 against Cotros to clinch the team victory. The final four singles matches were not played.
FLAMES 5, DELTA STATE 1
Jake Okines and Boyd Blackburn held off Hicham Azzaoui and Jeoffrey Noblecourt to win 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. Milne and Schattan won by the same score at No. 1 doubles against Timo Schmitz and Andrew Hildenbrand.
Delta State (5-7, 3-4 GSC) picked up their lone team point at No. 3 doubles. Mason Vice and Joao Yamacita needed a tie-breaker score of 7-2 to defeat Prata and Lemke, 9-8.
"We were in big trouble about three-fourths through doubles and, for a moment, it looked like we might go down 0-3," admitted Hynes. "Boyd did a great job rallying the team and we pulled out some tight wins. The lower half of our lineup got us through today. It was a very tough road win for us."
Prata swept his two sets against Julian Massa for a 6-0, 6-0 win. Blackburn pushed Lee's lead to 4-1 with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Hildenbrand. Schattan supplied the winning team point with 6-4 and 6-1 scores against Vice. The final three singles matches were not finished.
