Lady Flames Second at UAH Invitational

Record Five Event Wins

Hannah Buttolph set a new UAH Chargers Invitational record in the high jump on Saturday.



RESULTS

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Lee University women's track & field team finished second out of eight teams at the UAH Chargers Invitational. The Lady Flames were winners of six events with Adrian Martin leading the way with two.

Montevallo recorded 189 points to win as a team. Lee posted 114 points and host Alabama Huntsville was third with 104 points.

Martin won the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes. In the 100 meter, the senior posted a time of 12.60 to finish ahead of teammate Kiley Brock's 13.00. Martin crossed the finish line of the 200 meter at 25.78. Brock was fourth with a time of 27.14.

Hannah Buttolph set a meet record in the high jump. Her event-winning jump of 1.64 meters surpassed the old record of 1.56 meters set in last year's meet.

Audrey Smith won the 5000 meter run with a mark of 18:07.28. Amy Carpenter posted a time of 18:43.34 to give Lee two in the top five of the event. Logan Hernandez was 12th (19:30.70), Lily Fell finished 15th (19:49.20), Blakely Moore was 18th (19:52.77) and Becca Umbarger was 20th (20:01.92).

Jordan Allison posted a time of 1:07.65 to win the 400 meter hurdles. She also placed sixth (1:02.52) in the 400 meter dash.

Lee placed two teams in the 4x400 meter relay with the team of Allison, Martin, Cayce Bryan and Jessica Childers placing first (4:03.15) by over a second. The second team consisting of Charlee Boxall, Brock, Lacey Duvall and Smith finished fourth (4:16.97).

Four Lady Flames finished in the top 10 of the 800 meter run. Bryan was second (2:16.21), Childers placed third (2:16.57), Duvall was fifth (2:21.87) and Madison Hodges was 10th (2:38.18).

Boxall was joined by Hodges in running the 1500 meter. Boxall placed second (4:49.14) and Hodges was ninth (5:16.31).

Camilla Sims and Alexis Stevens took on the throwing events. Sims placed second in the shot put with a recorded distance of 12.31 meters. Sims was third (33.14 meters) in the discus throw, while Stevens was ninth (24.05 meters). Stevens threw the javelin 28.36 meters to finish sixth in the event.

The Lady Flames have a weekend off before returning to competition at the Emory Invitational on Mar. 17-18.
