ORLANDO, Fla. – The Lee University tennis teams continued their spring break trip with two more wins on Monday. The Flames began with an 8-1 win in the morning against University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and added a 7-2 win over University of Findlay in the evening.
After taking a day off, the Flames (3-2) will see action on Wednesday against Florida Tech at 7 p.m.
FLAMES 7, FINDLAY 2
"The guys played really well tonight," said Lee head coach Patric Hynes. "This was a match that we could easily have lost. We got a great start in doubles at No. 2 and 3. Wes (Lemke) made some huge plays under pressure. Boyd (Blackburn) got us the quick point that we needed and the Brazilians finished it. Now we have a day off and will get ready for Florida Tech. They are a top 40 team, so it's a big match for us."
Jake Okines and Blackburn were 8-5 winners at No. 2 doubles. Lemke and Daniel Prata won by the same score at the No. 3 slot. The Oilers (5-7) ended Lee's shutout bid with a win at No. 1 doubles. Rhys Milne and Igor Schattan fell 8-3 to Oriol Ferrer and Carlos Blanco.
Blackburn was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Sherwin Miranda and Schattan gave the Flames a 4-1 advantage with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Trevor Majdalani. Prata dropped his opening set to Ivaylo Slavov 6-2 before reversing the score in the second set and winning the final super set 10-3 to put the match in Lee's win column.
Ferrer ended Lee's run of victories with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Milne. Deljanovski and Okines tagged on two more wins to supply the final team margin. Deljanovski beat Blanco 7-5 and 6-2. Okines won his opening set 6-2, but lost to Nicholas Kopylec 7-5 in the second set. In the super set finale, Okines raced to a 10-3 win.

"We played a solid match," said Hynes. "We started with singles and the team did a great job jumping them early."
Okines gave Lee the early lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tajay McLeod. Schattan blanked Rakesh Chamala 6-0, 6-0 and Blackburn beat Sahas Chandragirl 6-3, 6-1.
Milne was a 6-2, 6-3 winner against Jake Sosonkin and Prata clinched the fifth team point with a 6-3, 6-2 score against Chandat Phan.
Deljanovski finished the Lee sweep of the singles matches with a three-set comeback win over Nathan Nguyen. Also losing the opening set 6-2, Deljanovski claimed the second set 7-6 after outlasting Nguyen 8-6 in the tie-breaker. A super set was used to break the tie with Deljanovski earning the 10-6 win.
In doubles action, Prata and Lemke defeated Borna Novak 8-5, while Okines and Jordan Knott beat Phan and Chandragirl 8-0.
The Devils (4-5) earned their lone point via a default at No. 1 doubles.
