ROME, Ga. – The Lee University women's lacrosse team ended its inaugural season with a 17-2 Gulf South Conference loss at Shorter University. The Lady Flames finish with an overall record of 0-14, including a 0-8 mark inside the conference. The Hawks improve to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the GSC.
Shorter led 12-0 at the halftime break and led 15-0 before Hanah Rotello ended the host's shutout bid. It was Rotello's 18
th goal of the season. Following a Shorter goal, Abby Fortner scored the first goal of her Lee career with a free position shot.
Jayne Renfro faced 25 shots and recorded eight saves.Catherine Mitchner gave up one goal and tallied one save to earn the win in just under 37 minutes played. Peyton Reid played the last 23 minutes, allowed one goal and was credited with two saves.
Hannah Pridemore and Crystal Marshall led Shorter with four goals each. Marshall added two assists. Allie Perry added two goals and two assists, while Shelby Beverly had two goals and an assist.
