Brandon Boston scored 32 points to help lead Mississippi College past the Lee men's basketball team, 87-75 on Saturday afternoon in Walker Arena.

Boston delivered early and often for the Choctaws and finished 11 of 16 from the field and a tidy 10 of 12 from the foul line. The 6-foot-5 sophomore got into a rhythm with his mid-range jumper and made things difficult on the Lee defense all night long.

The Flames trailed by just two points (38-36) heading into the break but gave up 49 points (23 from the foul line) in the second half to fall to the Choctaws.

Mississippi College shot 53.1 percent from the floor and converted 31 of 43 from the charity stripe in the contest to keep Lee from mounting a comeback.

Ryan Montgomery led Lee with 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was joined in double-figures by Bryce Copeland with 11. The former Bradley Central standout hit 3 of 6 from 3-point distance while Michael McGuirk came off the bench to deliver 11 points of his own.

"We just flat got out played tonight," said head coach Bubba Smith. "We didn't get stops down the stretch and their zone really bothered us all night offensively. I'd like to think we have control over the issues that came up tonight but overall it's just a really disappointing effort. You can't afford to lose games at home in this conference. Now we need to refocus and get ready for a tough road trip."

Antonio Johnson added 18 points and four assists for Mississippi College while Donovan Ham delivered a double-double with 10 points and 14 boards.

Lee held a 40-33 advantage on the glass. Both teams were active in the paint with the Flames holding a 34-32 advantage down low.

Coach Smith's club shot 41.8 percent from the field but hit just 9 of 33 from behind the arc. The Flames free-throw struggles popped back up as they connected on just 10 of 17 (58.8 percent).

The loss drops Lee to 11-7 overall and 6-5 in the balanced GSC. The Flames are currently tied fourth in the conference standings. The win gets the Choctaws back to .500 at 8-8. They are 5-6 in league play.

The Flames will look to rebound as they get set for a difficult four-game road trip beginning Thursday at Christian Brothers in Memphis. Tip time is set for 9 p.m. EST.
