BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lee University men's tennis team posted a 9-0 defeat of Lees-McRae College in a non-conference match on the LMC Tennis Courts. The Flames will carry a 2-0 record into Wednesday's match at Carson-Newman University. Lees-McRae fell to 0-3 on the season.

"The conditions were not easy to play in today," said Lee head coach Patric Hynes. "There were just two indoor courts and the guys did a good job taking care of business."

Igor Schattan and Daniel Prata took down Matt Meluch and Rusty Batten, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles to give Lee a 1-0 lead. Rhys Milne and Jake Okines held off Gabriel Muniz and Sebastian Zuhr to win the No. 1 doubles match, 9-7. Boyd Blackburn and Jordan Knott finished the doubles sweep with an 8-6 defeat of Colton Porter and Brandon Caldwell.

In singles action, Milne won in straight sets by matching 6-4 scores over Muniz. Okines was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2 singles to put the Flames up 5-0 and secure the team win.

Prata won his opening match 6-4 over Batten and finished the individual win with a 6-1 margin in the second set. Schattan won 6-4 and 6-2 against Meluch at No. 3 singles.

With the team match already decided, the final two individual matches were played as a single super set. Knott was an 8-0 winner over Porter and Blackburn beat Caldwell 8-2.
