Lacrosse Dominates Warriors, 18-8

Dillon, Hill Score Four Goals To Lead Lee To Victory

Kaylyn Dillon and Emma Hill scored four goals each as the Lee lacrosse team made quick work of NYACK College winning 18-8 on Thursday afternoon from a chilly South Quad Field.

The two teams dodged a few snow flakes early in the contest as Lee jumped out to a 10-3 lead at the halftime break. The second half was more of the same with the Lady Flames extending the margin to 10 goals and utilizing the running clock for the final 15 minutes of the contest.

"We did a nice job of being patient today and taking our time offensively so that we made the right decision and that's really been a focus for us in practice," said Dillon, a freshman from Massillon, Ohio. "The weather was a little chilly today especially since we played down in Florida on Monday but we were up for the challenge and once we got into the flow of the game it was no problem."

Becca Broadwick and Brianne Schapira also recorded hat tricks with three goals apiece. Broadwick leads the team with 27 goals through the first seven games. Madeline Perrigo added two scores and Rachel Duda and Emily Osborne added one score each.

"Our focus was on the fundamentals and making sure we cleaned up some things today and we also made some changes to our midfield and those girls did a great job of making adjustments," said head coach Addie Wadley.

Abby Sanders improved to 4-2 on the year in goal for the Lady Flames as she registered 11 saves.

Tori Silvers led the visiting Warriors with five goals. Melissa Clapsaddle added two and Julianna Kranes tallied one. Morgan Kessler was hit with the loss in net and recorded five saves. The loss drops the NYACK to 0-2 on the year.

The Lady Flames overcame 23 turnovers to score the home victory. Both teams took 25 shots in the contest while Lee held a 17-14 advantage in ground ball. Lee was 19 of 24 in clears while the Warriors cleared 13 of 17.

The Lady Flames improve to 5-2 on the season and will look to get their first conference win in program history as they visit Montevallo on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m.

"Montevallo's a good team and play a fast pace so we are going to need to play a clean game and work hard but I think we are up for the challenge," concluded Wadley.
