USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC INDIVIDUALS
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Academic Awards this week. The Lee University Women's Track & Field team not only had six members honored as individuals, the Lady Flames were one of 132 women's teams in NCAA Division II to earn the designation as a 2018 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
As a team, the Lady Flames posted a cumulative GPA of 3.44. The highest cumulative GPA of any team belonged to the Cedarville University women, who maintained a team GPA of 3.61.
"This was great year for our team in the classroom," said Lee head coach Caleb Morgan. "This is the third year in a row our women have maintained at least a 3.40 GPA. Our women truly work just as hard in the classroom as they do on the track."
In total, 405 women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2017-18 track & field seasons. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
Representing Lee as USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals were Jordan Allison, Charlee Boxall, Hannah Buttolph, Emily Buwalda, Amy Carpenter and Audrey Smith.
