HOOVER, Ala. – The Lee University volleyball team opened the GSC/SSC Crossover with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-8, 25-21) loss to Spring Hill College Friday afternoon. The Lady Flames (9-11) had beaten Spring Hill (24-4) by a 3-1 score back on September 11.
Abby Stroh and Quinne Daoust tallied eight kills each to help the Lady Flames amass 35 team kills. Hannah Upton supplied five kills, while Mary Katherine Givhan and Bailey Kress contributed four each.
Hanna Matthews registered 17 assists to go along with nine digs. Calina Croy added eight assists. Micaela McMichen recorded a team-leading 17 digs.
Lee committed 28 attack errors and finished with an attack percentage of .058. The Badgers held an attack percentage of .255 with just 10 attack errors. Spring Hill combined for nine team blocks to three for the Lady Flames.
Bentley Odom had 11 of SHC's 35 kills. Allison Weimer added eight and Kassandra Fairly had seven more. Emmarose Neibert dished out 26 assists and had 13 digs. Cassidi Sterrett led all players with 21 digs.
The Lady Flames continue crossover action on Saturday with a 10 a.m. meeting with Florida Tech. Lee battles Florida Southern College for the season time this season at 5:45 p.m. Florida Southern handed Lee a 3-1 loss on September 14 at the USC Aiken Invitational.
