Lady Flames Take Down Christian Brothers In Season Finale



The Lee University volleyball team ended the 2019 season on a positive note with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 27-25) win over Christian Brothers University Saturday afternoon in Paul Dana Walker Arena. The victory snapped an 11-match losing streak for the Lady Flames (10-21, 3-13 GSC).

Bailey Kress an Abby Stroh paced the Lee offense with 17 and 14 kills, respectively. Quinne Daoust had nine kills, while Mary Katherine Givhan supplied seven more.

Hanna Matthews recorded 41 of the Lady Flames' 47 assists and completed the season with 1019 assists. She also tied Hannah Upton with a team-leading two service aces.

Two Lady Flames registered over 10 digs. Micaela McMichen led all players with 18 and Stroh had 12 more.

The Bucs (6-26, 3-13 GSC) were led by Emma Lenoir and Alayna Maslinski. Lenoir slammed down 21 kills and Maslinski was credited with 41 assists. Maddie Steens served up three aces.

Four CBU players had double-digit digs. Lenoir led the Bucs with 17 with Maslinski (16) and Stevens (15) right behind. Meredith Hollinger joined in with 10 digs.

Givhan led the Lady Flames in blocks. The senior tallied three block assists and one solo block as Lee amassed seven blocks to six for the visitors. Upton and Kress added three block assists each.
