BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Lee University's Charlee Boxall was named the Gulf South Conference Women's Track Performer of the Week following her performance at the BSC Panther Icebreaker this past weekend.
Boxall won the 3000-meter run in a new school record 10:02.36, finishing 19 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. She currently holds the top time in the South Region and is ranked fourth nationally. This is the second time in her career that she has won this award and the first time she has won this award during the indoor season.
"We wanted to try Charlee out at a longer distance coming off cross country season," said Lee head coach Caleb Morgan. "She performed very well. She has elite range, being able to run well over multiple events."
The Lady Flames will return to action on Sunday, January 19, at the Emory CrossPlex Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.
