Chargers Shutout Lady Flames



The Alabama Huntsville Chargers remained perfect in GSC play with a dominating 20-0 blanking of the Lee lacrosse team on a sunny and breezy Saturday afternoon from the South Quad Field.

Nicole Federovitch led the scoring with five goals and had two assists.Katie Gerber and Abby O'Brien added three goals each and Megan Hartnett and Natalie Pachinger tallied a pair of goals. Julianna Chesna led the visitors with three assists. 

When the Chargers weren't on the attack the defense was frustrating the Lady Flames to the tune of 23 turnovers. UAH held a 15-7 advantage in draw controls and a 15-2 lead in groundballs. 

Abby Sanders had 13 saves for Lee as she faced a barrage of 49 shots. Leslie Allen Brown earned the win in goal for the Chargers with four saves. Emma Gould came on to work the final 6:30 to combine for the shutout.

The Lady Flames fall to 3-8 on the season and 0-4 in the GSC. The Chargers improve to 11-2 and are 4-0 in conference action. 

Lee will get back to work as it travels to Montevallo for a mid-week conference clash on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The two teams battled it out in Cleveland On Mar. 20 with the Falcons edging the Lady Flames, 13-12. Lee returns home on next Saturday as it steps outside of conference play to host Reinhardt University at 1 p.m. on the Lee Soccer Field.
