MELBOURNE, Fla. - The No. 20 Florida Tech Panthers flexed their muscles in handing the Lee women's lacrosse team a 22-2 loss on Wednesday evening.
The Panthers scored 17 straight goals and dominated in every facet of the game to improve to 3-3. The loss drops the Lady Flames to 3-3.
Senior transfer Rachael Giles finally got Lee on the board with 26:12 left in the contest as she scored her eighth goal of the year off a pass from Kaylyn Dillon. Sophomore Becca Broadwick, fresh off being named GSC Player of the Week, scored her 16th goal of the season with 5:59 remaining.
Leah Dunn and Molly Kaplan led the way with five goals each for the home team. Florida Tech registered 38 shots and put 36 on mark.
Abby Sanders suffered the loss in net for the Lady Flames allowing 16 goals in the first half. Camille Davenport worked the second half and yielded six goals while recording six saves.
Lee will look to rebound against another quality Sunshine State Conference opponent on Friday as they visit Saint Leo at 3 p.m. The Lions are receiving votes in the latest national poll.
