PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 1 West Florida Argonauts pitched their way to a series sweep of the Lee softball team on Saturday afternoon.
The Argonauts opened the day with a 5-1 victory before taking game two 6-1.
The Lady Flames will wrap up the home portion of the regular season next week as they host Montevallo in a three-game series beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
"We didn't make the plays when we needed to today and they did. We had trouble with the wind on defense and couldn't get a good read. We need to finish the next two weeks strong," said Lee head coach Emily Russell.
The Lady Flames now sit at 19-28 overall and 7-16 in the league. West Florida will certainly maintain its No. 1 ranking improving to 39-5 and 22-2 in the GSC.
