HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Alabama Huntsville Chargers jumped out early and never looked back in handing the Lee women's lacrosse team a 19-8 loss on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers scored the first 10 goals before Kaylyn Dillon broke through with the Lady Flames first goal of the game with 6:43 left in the first half.
Emma Hill and Becca Broadwick scored two goals each in the contest for Lee. Broadwick added a pair of assists. Shayna Ryan, Rachel Duda, Cecilia Lord and Dillon tallied goals to round out the scoring.
Sophia Fiorino led the Chargers with six goals. Nicole Federovitch struck for five and Katie Gerber and Savanna Robbins had two each.
The Chargers outshot the Lady Flames to 37-17. Lee committed 25 turnovers and forced the Chargers into 10 mistakes.
Abby Sanders recorded 10 saves in goal for the Lady Flames. Leslie Allen Brown earned the win in net for the Chargers as she allowed eight goals and had five saves.
The Lady Flames fall to 4-10 overall and are now 1-5 in the GSC. Alabama Huntsville improves to 12-4 and 5-1 in league play.
