BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Lee University's Charlee Boxall and Kristen Blevins were recognized by the Gulf South Conference Wednesday afternoon for their performances this past weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Boxall earned GSC Women's Track Performer of the Week and Blevins was named the GSC Women's Freshman of the Week.
Boxall passed the provisional standard while setting a Lee record in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:29.18. That is currently the best time in the GSC this season. She also finished the 800-meter run at 2:15.44 to place 10
th.
Blevins was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team that set a new Lee record and improved their provisional time, stopping the clock at 46.80 to finish fourth at the meet. Blevins also finished 23
rd in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash with a time of 12.23 and 25.42, respectively.
The Lady Flames have this coming weekend off and begin postseason competition on May 2 at the GSC Championship. The three-day meet will be held at Barron Stadium in Rome, Ga.
