CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Lee University track & field teams are less than 24 hours from beginning competition in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, Texas.

The Lee contingent spent most of Tuesday traveling to South Texas. The Flames and Lady Flames flew to Atlanta from Chattanooga and, after a short layover, boarded another airplane for the 2 ½ hour flight to San Antonio. Following a brief stop at the Alamo, the teams began the final two-hour drive to the hotel in Corpus Christi.

On Wednesday, the Lee athletes made the 45-minute trek to Kingsville to acclimate themselves to the track, followed by a banquet later in the evening aboard the U.S.S. Lexington.

Charlee Boxall will be the first to hit the track with the 1500-meter run on Thursday at 5:55 p.m. CDT. Boxall is set for the second of two heats in the preliminary round. The top four from each heat plus the next four best times will advance to Saturday's finals.

She will be followed by Justin Brooks in the 400-meter dash prelims. He will be in the third of three heats. The top two from each heat and the next two best times advance to the finals on Saturday.

Finishing the first day of action for Lee is Christian Noble. He has been scheduled for heat No. 2 of the 3000-meter steeplechase where the top four of each of the two heats and the next four best times make the final on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Josiah Brooks opens the action on Thursday with the triple jump finals at 4:45 p.m. He is in the first of two flights. The top nine from the field of 20 move on to the final round.

At 5:50 p.m., Justin and Josiah Brooks take on the prelims of the 200-meter dash. Josiah is slotted in heat No. 1, while Justin will be in heat No. 3. The top two times of each heat, along with the next two best times, continue to Saturday's final race.

A couple hours later, Justin and Josiah will be joined by Siphosethu Boya and Jeremiah McCain for the preliminary round of the 4x400-meter relay. The foursome is scheduled to run in the first of two heats. The top two teams of each heat and the next four best times make Saturday's final.

Chloe Flora is the last Lee runner to enter competition with the 5000-meter run set for 8:05 p.m. on Saturday. Flora will be among 22 other runners in the single-section final.
