WOMEN'S RESULTS
BOSTON – Five Lee University athletes completed a successful two days this weekend at the 2020 BU John Thomas Terrier Classic in the Boston University Track & Tennis Center. Christian Noble, Amber Littlejohn, Celine Ritter, Chloe Flora and Charlee Boxall combined for four Lee records, five NCAA II provisional qualifying marks and one automatic qualifier.
Noble was the last of the five to compete with the men's 5000-meter run Saturday evening. The senior placed third in the race with a time of 14:01.61 to knock 22 seconds off the program record he had set back in December. His time also eclipsed the automatic qualifying standard of 14:03.70.
Earlier in the day, the women's distance medley relay team posted a second-place time of 11:38.54 to break the previous Lee record (12:02.74) from 2018. The performance easily met the provisional mark of 12:04.69 and was exactly five seconds behind the automatic qualifier.
Littlejohn began Friday's action with an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter dash. She set a new Lee record at 56.32 seconds and finished under the provisional time of 56.53.
Ritter and Flora competed in the 3000-meter run. Both runners beat the previous Lee record of 10:02.36. Ritter finished eighth with a time of 9:31.08 and Flora was 15
th (9:45.48). The time needed for a provisional qualification is 9:58.07 and 9:28.76 is needed for an automatic.
Boxall ran the second-fastest mile time in Lee women's history (4:56.44) to finish 19
th and come in 2.29 seconds under the provisional standard.
