Fifth-Ranked Lady Flames Improve to 11-0 and 8-0 GSC

MOBILE, Alabama – The fifth-ranked and unbeaten Lee women's soccer team improved to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in Gulf South Conference play by defeating host Spring Hill College 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.

"Our ladies just took a professional approach to the victory and now will return home to host University of Montevallo on Friday (5 p.m.) and Auburn Montgomery on Sunday (1 p.m.)," said Coach Chris Hennessey. Both games are scheduled for the Ray Conn Sports Complex.

"The win today gave us the opportunity to give some of our players some extended playing time," added the Lee coach. Junior Ellie Crisler got the scoring started for the Lady Flames in the 29th minute when she nailed a shot into the low back center of the net and picked up the first of two assists from freshman Jordan Blair. The margin reached 2-0 at halftime when freshman Cassidy Kellett also drilled a shot into the low back center of the net in the 31st minute.

The Lady Flames continued their scoring early in the second half when Blair tallied the first of her two goals in the 53rd minute. The first score was assisted by sophomore Alexis Hale. Just over two minutes later Blair scored again (55:50) and sophomore Tatum Miller was credited with the assist. Lee's final goal was recorded in the 76th minute when senior Sage Sammeli fired her shot into the high back center of the net.

Lee attempted 14 shots and placed nine on goal. They picked up six corner kicks. As usual, the Lady Flames strong defense held Spring Hill to only five shots during the entire match and none were on target and the home squad had no corner kicks. The Lady Flames used junior Mollie Wheeler and sophomore Haleigh Holland in goal.
