Rugged Road Trip Ends with Loss to West Georgia

Box Score CARROLLTON, Georgia – The Lee volleyball team ended the rugged five-game road trip with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-23) loss to host University of West Georgia on Saturday afternoon at the Coliseum. The loss dropped the Lady Flames to 4-10 overall and 2-4 in GSC play. The Wolves improved to 9-8, 3-4.

Lee will return to Walker Arena and the Sport Court for the first time since September 25 when they Valdosta State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and then turn right around and challenge conference-leading West Florida on Friday at 6 p.m.

"We are excited to be back in front of our home crowd this week," commented Coach Callie Murphy. The Lady Flames will host a "White Out" on Tuesday against the Blazers and are encouraging all fans to wear white and be loud! T-shirts will be given away to fans while supplies last.

Coach Murphy did single out the performances of a pair of her players but was disappointed with the overall team effort. "Allie Whittinghill contributed well to her team with 18 kills. Mack (Mackenzie) Pearson also provided the team with 20 digs to help set up our offense,"

"Truthfully, we are in a rut, and we need to get out of it quickly. Errors that don't show up on the stat sheets cost us more matches than those that do. Communication and consistency will be a large focus going into a tough stretch of home matches this week."
