Ritter Repeats As NCAA DII 3000-Meter Indoor Champion

Lady Flames Finish 16th

RESULTS

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Celine Ritter recorded 16 of Lee University women's track & field team's 17 points as the Lady Flames finished 16th at the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day event was hosted by Pittsburg State University at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Ritter capped the weekend with an individual championship in the 3000-Meter Run. She crossed the finish line at 9:18.53 to finish two seconds ahead of Western Colorado's Katie Doucette (9:20.85) to record 10 team points. With the win, Ritter successfully defended her championship at the 3000-meter distance in the 2021 NCAA DII Indoor Championships and earned her second First Team All-America honor of the weekend.

On Friday, Ritter claimed eight points with a third-place finish in the 5000-Meter Run. She stopped the clock at 16:08.59, while Brianna Robles of Adams State was first across the line at 16:00.98. Fatima Alanis of Queens (N.C.) was second at 16:06.59.

The Distance Medley Relay team of Aria Hawkins, Mikayla Beeler, Lily Hare and Toni Moore posted a combined time of 11:34.90 to finish in eighth and earn recognition as First Team NCAA DII All-Americans.

Kristen Blevins finished 18th in the 60-Meter Dash preliminary with a time of 7.64 seconds. Hannah Wright placed 16th with a 60-Meter Hurdle time of 8.74 seconds.
