The loss was the fourth in a row for the Lady Flames as their record fell to 3-7 overall and 1-3 in Gulf South Conference play.

CBU (10-2, 4-2 GSC) collected wins in two of the three doubles matches to carry a 1-0 lead into singles competition. Ashleigh Simes and Sierra Donaldson began doubles with a 6-3 win over Beatriz Costa and Eva Garcia to give Lee an early advantage. Raquel Amaro and Maud Vandeputte doubled-up Micaela Belen Maiz and Lisa Kirr 6-3 at No. 1 doubles to even the doubles score. CBU gathered the doubles point with a 6-3 win by Nellina Wooten and Gabriela Marin against Mirjana Ragastovac and Hayden Smith.

Vandeputte gave up one point in beating Kirr at No. 2 singles. In a battle of ranked singles players, CBU's Amaro, ranked No. 47, outlasted 40th-ranked Simes to post a three-set 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
