It was senior day at the Ray Conn Sports Complex and seniors Dariana Blanton and Shayna Ryan led the way as the Lee women's lacrosse team dominated the second half to fire past Young Harris, 22-14 on Wednesday afternoon.
Blanton scored seven times to add to her program-record in career goals scored. She now stands at 149 overall and a GSC-leading 54 this season. Ryan got the Lady Flames on the board in the first and finished with two goals and seven draw controls.
Even more impressive than Blanton's seven goals were the timing of many of them. The senior from Canton, Ga. scored with 12 seconds left in the first quarter, 28 seconds left in the second quarter and one second left in the third quarter.
"I'm just really grateful for my time here at Lee and with this program," said Blanton. "I was a little anxious at the start of this game, with it being my last home game, but once that first goal went in I settled in and we were able to really get things going in the second half. I love this team and I'm honored to be a part of this program."

Freshman Megan Trout stepped up and tallied six goals while Brittney White did a little bit of everything with four scores, 11 draw controls, five ground balls and caused two turnovers.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair with neither team holding more than a two-goal advantage. At the break the Lady Flames held a 13-12 advantage.
"It was really a tough battle there in the first half but we came out in the second half and knew that if we all came together we could pull this game out," said Ryan. "My time here at Lee has been so special and I'm just really glad we could end the home season on a high note with a big win. These girls are amazing. It's special to be able to share this day with my good friend, Dariana."
The Mountain Lions would score the first goal of the second half just 30 seconds into the third but from there it was all Lady Flames. Lee scored five straight goals and outscored the Mountain Lions 9-2 in the second half to secure the victory.
Lee outshot Young Harris, 39-25 and held a 21-18 advantage in draw controls. The Lady Flames made the most of 13 free positions shots, find the back of the net on 10.
Caleigh Smith came on in goal for Lee in the second quarter to earn the win. She allowed eight goals and posted eight saves in 45 minutes of work. Rachel Robb was hit with the loss for the Mountain Lions. She yielded 17 goals and registered 11 saves in 45 minutes of work.
Morgan Lewis paced the visitors with five goals while Taylor Greenberg and Kinsley Purser had three each.
"Both Shayna and Dariana came here their freshman year and there weren't many wins that season. They are big part of that turn around. They are two special players and even better people. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to coach them and for all that they gave this program over the last four seasons," said Lee head coach Derrel Martin. "We responded today after some adversity on the road on Saturday. This group put in the work needed to bounce back. We switched to a man-to-man defense from our zone in the second half and that seemed to work for us. Obviously, you count on your leaders to step up in these games and Dariana led us in a big way today."
The Lady Flames finish the regular season at 8-7 and 5-1 in the GSC. Young Harris falls to 7-8 and 2-2 in league play. Lee will now have some time off to rest up before beginning postseason play in the GSC Semifinals on Friday, April 29.
