Lady Flames Slug Past Falcons for Saturday Sweep

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Lee Lady Flames fired back from a tough extra-inning loss yesterday to sweep Saturday's doubleheader at Montevallo, 14-10 and 8-4.
The Lady Flames pounded out 23 runs on 29 hits and are now hitting a sizzling .316 as a team.

With the Saturday sweep Lee moves to 26-19 and 16-10 in the GSC. The Falcons drop to 23-19 and 13-12 in league play.

Lee will wrap up regular season play against No. 20 West Florida next Saturday and Sunday at Butler Field. The three-game series begins with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

GAME 2 – LEE 8 UM 4
Caroline Pattison (1-0) went the distance in the circle in game two for the Lady Flames to earn her first win of the season. She allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits. Pattison struck out four and did not allow a walk.

Bre Patton had four hits and finished the series 9 of 15 with four runs scored and three RBI. Sidney Lee hit a two-run homer in the fifth and Alex Scalzo drilled a two-run shot in the seventh.

Mychal McMillian (11-5) suffered the loss as she allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits. Sierra Easterwood led the Falcons at the dish with a sacrifice fly in the first and a two-run double in the fifth.

GAME 1 – LEE 14 UM 10
In a game that lasted nearly three hours the Lady Flames outlasted Montevallo, 14-10 in game one on Saturday.

Lee worked around four errors thanks to 15 hits. Ana Macha had four hits and scored three runs. Shelby Cole hit a two-run homer in the fifth and finished with three RBI. Sidney Lee doubled, singled and drove in three and Taylor De Adder registered two doubles and scored twice. Patton tripled in a run in the seventh to jump start a three-run rally for the Lady Flames.

Alaina Watson (2-1) started and went five to claim the victory. She allowed seven runs (four earned) on seven hits in five innings. Madison Barnett cleaned up the final two innings and allowed three runs, but all were unearned.

The Falcons struggled to get the Lady Flames out all day long. Kaylee Hawkins (6-7) started game one and was touched up for five runs on six hits in 2.1 innings.
