With a few days to reflect I wanted to share some thoughts on our National Championship victory!
There are things that have happened within our program that could only be done by the hand of God. I believe that every player that ends up here has been led here by God for a reason. I've seen life change in our program, I've seen hearts change in our program, I've seen powerful lifetime relationships form in our program, and those things will always outweigh any trophy. Thank you Lord for showing favor on our Program!
This National Championship is for Lee University and all the people that make it a truly special place….our faculty, staff, administrators, and athletic department. This place and it's mission has a hold on mine and Jayne's heart! It is for the whole Lee Golf Family (alums, friends, family, and players) whose hard work, support, and passion made this possible. And lastly, it is for our town of Cleveland, TN which we are so proud to call home.
Our team is humbled and overwhelmed by the amount of people who reached out, followed, and supported us last week. Thank you all!
To Coach Evan Spence and the young men that won this Championship: I love you dearly, and I've learned more from you than you'll ever know. Your dedication, love for one another, and belief in yourselves is truly special. You were READY for your moment! Your accomplishments as golfers will pale in comparison to the men, leaders, husbands, and fathers that you'll be one day.
Thank you Coach Carpenter for your leadership and support, we are grateful for you! Thank you Carman Lastoria and Reily Rogers for telling our story and providing us with memories last week like no one else can! Thank you Marty Rowe for your friendship and for being with our team every step of the way last week!
Lastly, thank you to my wife Jayne and our 3 kids (Addie, Jackson, and Annie)…."my forever team" and the true behind the scenes heroes of our program!
We are PROUD to bring this Championship home to Lee University and Cleveland, TN!!
