ALLENDALE, Mich. – Kristen Blevins and Toni Moore added two more Second Team All-American performances to the Lee University track & field teams' count on the second day of competition at the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The three-day championships are being held at Grand Valley State Track & Field Stadium.
Blevins was fourth in her heat of the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.91 seconds. The top two finishers of each of the three heats and the next three best marks qualified for Saturday's final. Blevins was 10
th overall and was just 0.05 seconds behind Pittsburg State's Christine Williams (23.86) for the final spot.
Moore took on the final of the 3000-meter steeplechase a little over 24 hours after the preliminary races. She completed the event in 10:49.07 for 12
th place.
By finishing in the Top 12 of their respective events and outside of the Top 8, Blevins and Moore earned Second Team All-American status.
Titus Lagat was the last Lee athlete to see action. He placed 15
th in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line at 1:50.72.
Two Lee athletes will be on the track on Saturday. Celine Ritter begins the day with the 1500-meter run final at 2:35 p.m. EDT. Nearly three hours later, Ritter will be joined by Moore in the finals of the 5000-meter run.
