MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Despite a strong performance from Abby Stroh with 12 kills the Lee volleyball team dropped a Gulf South Conference matchup at Christian Brothers, 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Stroh delivered a double-double with 11 digs to go along with the 12 slams. She also added a pair of aces. Allie Whittinghill added six and Macy Petty posted four. Ashton Middleton led the team with 14 assists.Â
The Lady Flames and Bucs went back and forth in set one. With the score tied at 24-24 Maysen Bruschke and Tia Rizvi delivered back to back kills to push CBU to the win, 26-24.
Sets two and three followed a similar script with Christian Brothers pulling away from the Lady Flames late with 25-19 and 25-22 wins respectively. Maddie Rowley led the Bucs with 12 kills while Rizvi tallied 26 assists and 15 digs.
The Lady Flames fall to 2-11 and on the season and are 0-2 in the GSC. CBU improves to 2-7 and 1-2 in league play.Â
Lee will look to get back on track on Friday as they welcome Alabama Huntsville to Walker Arena. Fans are encouraged to come out for the annual "Whiteout" game, which will also feature free smoothies courtesy of Tropical Smoothie. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
