BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- After a record setting performance last week at the Vulcan Invitational in Birmingham, Ala., Eli Brooks has been named the Gulf South Conference Field Athlete of the Week.

Brooks set a Lee record on his way to a first-place finish in the pole vault. Brooks cleared 4.75 meters to eclipse Daniel Surman's previous record of 4.70 meters.

In the second weekend of the year, the Flames and Lady Flames will head to the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday, January 19, and the Samford Open on Saturday, January 20.
