CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Bria Dent tallied 24 of her 28 points in the second half in leading visiting West Alabama to a 71-66 come-from-behind victory over the Lee women's basketball team on Thursday evening inside Walker Arena.

The win ended a seven-game losing streak for the Lady Tigers who improved to 10-10 overall and 7-9 in GSC play. The Lady Flames dropped to 16-4, 14-2 and remain in a tie for first place in the conference standings with Valdosta State. They will host Alabama Huntsville on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. "We will need to make some quick adjustments and get ready for Saturday. UAH has won two straight and seems to be playing with a lot of confidence.

"Give West Alabama a ton of credit tonight, they made tough plays down the stretch and really outplayed us on both ends," said a frustrated Lee Coach Marty Rowe after the loss. "It goes to show you records mean very little in this league. Whoever plays better usually wins, and tonight that was West Alabama. I will have to do a better job preparing our team. This loss falls squarely on my shoulders."

While Dent was playing a big role in her team's victory, Jala Williams was also stepping up her game. She finished with 17 points and knocked down 10-of-11 key free throws down the stretch. All totaled, the Lady Tigers made 14-of-20 freebies while Lee struggled, hitting 9-of-15. Zoe Watts added 11 points.

Haley Schubert paced the Lady Flames with 24 points. Mallory Hampton had a career high 21 points. She made 4-of-5 triples and had five rebounds. Morgan Carbaugh had eight rebounds as the Lady Flames outrebounded West Alabama 36-26. However, Lee turned the basketball over 16 times to just 12 for the visitors. 

The Lady Tigers shot 50% from the field (27-of-54) and tallied 40 points in the paint. Lee shot the ball well enough to win, 46% (25-of-55). The Lady Flames also nailed 7-of-16 3-pointers (44%) but were outscored by the Lady Tigers 18-9 in the third quarter which turned the contest in the visitors favor. The rally continued in the final period when Williams made her march to the free-throw line and converted to help seal the win.
