AUSTIN, Texas-Kate Dirkse of the Lee University women's soccer team, was named to the 2023 Academic All-America First Team for her excellence in the classroom. The 2023 Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Dirkse, a senior, has a 3.97 GPA in finance.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Sixteen of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women's soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.94.
