Flames Post Program-Best Ninth Place Finish at NCAA DII Outdoor Championships

Lady Flames Tie For 50th

FINAL RESULTS

EMPORIA, Kan. – The Lee University Men's Track & Field team added 16 points to its point total on the third and final day of the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships to tie Albany State for ninth place with 24 points, while the Lady Flames tallied three points to tie for 50th. The ninth-place finish is the highest in the men's program history. The Championships were held at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University.

Roberto Fajardo began the day with a second place finish in the 1500-meter Run to double the Flames' point total to 16. Fajardo completed the circuit at 3:54.53, just 0.12 seconds behind Aziz Mohamed's 3:54.41.

Aria Hawkins was next on the track for Lee. She posted a time of 4:28.87 to place 10th in the women's 1500. Hawkins missed making the podium by two seconds.

Justin Steele had a hand in the Flames' final eight team points. He finished fifth with a time of 47.10 seconds in the 400-meter Dash. He joined with Nokia Masengu, Aiden Shaw and Doniven Jackson to finish fifth with a combined 4x400-meter Relay time of 3:09.15.
