Srichantamit, Standifer Winners of Dr. Paul Conn Athlete of Year Award

CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Supuschaya "Yui" Srichantamit and Dylan Standifer have been named the winners of the annual Dr. Paul Conn Athlete of the Year award. The prestigious award not only goes to outstanding athletes, but to those who have reached high marks in the classroom during their years at Lee. They have displayed team leadership while competing in sporting events and representing the university in campus and community activities.

The native of Khon Kaen, Thailand wasted no time in becoming the top golfer in the Gulf South Conference. She will leave Lee as the best women's golfer to play in the GSC.

Said Lee Women's Golf Coach Geandra Almeida, "I am immensely proud of Yui! This is another well-deserved award for her extensive list of accomplishments. Yui is not only an outstanding player and student, but an even better person. She is the definition of excellence, absolute everything she has done throughout her college career she has done with excellence. I could not be happier to see her hard work on and off the golf course paying off!" 

 Yui's list of athletic honors include:

• Gulf South Conference All-Tournament (2020 – 2021, 2021 – 2022, 2022– 2023)

• All-Gulf South Conference First Team (2020 – 2021, 2021 – 2022, 2022– 2023, 2023-2024)

• Gulf South Conference Golfer of Year in 2023 and 2024

• Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II South Region First Team (2022 – 2023)

• Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II First Team All-America (2022 – 2023)

Srichantamit will graduate with a major in Business Administration, and a minor in Nonprofit Management. She has carried a 3.905 GPA.

• Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II All-American Scholar (2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023)

• Gulf South Conference Honor Roll (2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023)

• Lee University Honor Scholarship (2021 – 2023)

• Lee University Dean's List Honor (Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Fall 2023)

Community Service:

• Served and volunteered for the Caring Place in Cleveland 

• Volunteer Golf Instructor for the Tennessee Golf Foundation

• Volunteer Golf Instructor for the Lee Flame Golf Academy

• Volunteered at the Fall Festival for Michigan Avenue Elementary School 

• Volunteer business teacher for elementary students. 

 

Standifer

Said Lee Baseball Coach Mark Brew, "Dylan may be one of the best combos of player/human I have ever coached. He is going to end his career as one of the top players statistically to ever wear a Flames uniform.  More importantly, he's one of the best combos of people/leaders our program has ever had.

"He may be the most consistent person I have ever coached and the example he sets for our team is impressive. He always "shows up" and is one of the most trustworthy people out there. Dylan is the heartbeat of our team and has selflessly moved to the leadoff spot this year, a place he is unfamiliar with and not best suited for, but it has allowed our team and line-up to flourish while he continues to have his best year in a Flames uniform."

Holds Lee career record for times at-bat (847), breaking record held by Lee Hall of Fame member Andrew Shavers.

He is within two RBI of breaking the record (194) currently held by Kevin Young.

On March 19, Dylan tied Lee's single-game homerun record with three long balls against Christian Brothers University.

Academic Honors

A graduate student, Dylan graduated in Dec. of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness, K-12 – 3.50 GPA

Helped team prepare Larry Carpenter Stadium and Olympic Field for Military Appreciation Day (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)

Served in Read Across America program at Stuart Elementary School this past year (2024).
