MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Playing the majority of the contest without All-American guard Mallory Hampton, the Lee University basketball team posted its fifth-straight win on Saturday afternoon with an impressive 67-46 team victory over host Christian Brothers University. The Lady Flames improved to 8-3 in conference play and 14-3 overall. The Lady Bucs remained winless at 0-11, 0-16.

Lee finished with 40% shooting from the field (29-of-60) but struggled from deep, 25% (7-of-28). The Lady Flames went to the charity stripe 14 times and made 12. They outrebounded the Lady Bucs 47-22. The Lee defense held the Christian Brothers offense to 37% shooting, 17-of-46. They did convert 4-of-10 triples (40%) and 8-of-13 free throws.

Lee returns to Walker Arena on Thursday and Saturday. The Lady Flames will host Auburn Montgomery in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and then be back on Saturday for another important GSC affair and seek revenge against Montevallo in a 2 p.m. contest.
Coach Marty Rowe's thoughts:
"A gutsy win by our team today. It's hard to bounce back sometimes after such an emotional win on Thursday (over Union). With Mallory (Hampton) not really being able to go today, it took other people stepping up on both ends of the court. I'm really proud of the group's desire to get better."
