For the sixth straight time, the Lee University women's track and field team won the Gulf South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Lady Flames scored 267 points setting a new GSC indoor record to maintain the title. The previous record was 260.5 points set by Lee in 2022. Lee remains the only school in the history of the conference to win the indoor championship.
Freshman Liz Lannom dominated the championship as she was named the most outstanding overall performer, most outstanding track performer, and freshman of the meet. Senior Liezl Theron earned most outstanding field athlete of the championship. Lee won ten events at the championship.
The Lee University men's track and field team finished in second place at the Gulf South Conference Indoor Championship on Friday afternoon. The Flames had 168 points in second place. The University of Alabama in Huntsville had 228 points in their first ever GSC Indoor title.
