DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Lee University lacrosse team lost their fifth game to a top 25 team this season as they fell to #9 Embry Riddle 18-5 on Thursday week. The Lady Flames were outscored 8-1 in the second half after being down by just six at halftime. With the loss, Lee fell to 1-7 on the season.
Lee trailed after the first quarter 5-1 with the lone goal for Lee coming from Makenna Luzier. The Lady Flames tried to mount a charge in the second quarter with goals from Katelynn Sweeney, Noelle Harrington, and Callie Curtis. They cut the deficit down to 6-4 before ERAU ended the period with four goals to lead 10-4 at the break. Taylor McGovern managed the only goal of the second half for Lee.
ERAU outshot Lee 42-22 including 31-13 with shots on goal. Savannah Weisman made 13 saves in the loss. Hannah Vecsey had the only two assists for Lee in the loss.
The Lady Flames will return home to host North Greenville University on Tuesday, March 18 at 5 PM.
