Flames Open Outdoor Season at Home in Lee University Invitational

Aiden Shaw placed 12th in the 100-meter Dash and 17th in the 200 this weekend.
RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lee University men's track & field team opened its outdoor season hosting the Lee University Invitational this weekend at the Ray Conn Sports Complex. There was no team scoring for the two-day event.

Aiden Shaw placed 12th in the 100-meter Dash with a time of 10.93 seconds. He posted a time of 21.98 seconds in the 200-meter Dash to finish seventh. Cooper Giddens (22.43) was 18th, Eli Cobble (22.55) was 21st and Hudson Hunt (24.32) finished 58th.

Giddens and David Johnson participated in the 400-meter Dash where Giddens finished 12th (50.02) and Johnson (50.85) was 17th.

Eight Flames were part of the field in the 800-meter Run with three placing in the top four. Evan Moore was second with a time of 1:51.61. Jacob Hatcher (1:51.90) was third and Stephen Clark crossed in fourth place (1:52.46). Caleb Guthery made it four Flames in the top 10 with a 10th-place time of 1:55.11. Parker Campbell (1:55.53) placed 15th, Ethan King (1:57.85) was 23rd, Johnson (1:58.46) finished 27th and John Womack stopped the clock at 1:59.28 (31st).

Hatcher was Lee's top finisher at second (3:51.27) in the 1500-meter Run. Moore's time of 3:52.23 was good for third. Clark placed seventh (3:54.44), Guthery (3:55.72) finished eighth and Tal Old was 10th at 3:58.83. Aaron Himes placed 12th (4:00.09) and Campbell (4:08.52) was 30th.

The Lee men placed four runners in the top nine of the 5000-meter Run. Luke Gaddis was second at 14:23.60, while Xian Campbell (14:52.22) was fifth. Pierre Chauveau finished eighth (15:03.80) and Elijah Moran (15:05.59) was ninth. William Ta completed the 10000-meter Run at 33:54.12 for ninth place.

John Womack placed 10th in the 400-meter Hurdles with a time of 58.82 seconds. King (59.83) was 12th and Cobble finished at 1:03.15 (15th).

Jacob Salters and Hudson Hunt were Lee's representatives in the High Jump. Salters cleared 1.90 meters for second place and Hunt was fourth with a successful jump of 1.80 meters. Hunt also placed fourth with a mark of 6.26 meters in the Long Jump.

Camden Williams was third in the Shot Put with a mark of 15.43 meters. Carrington Tate's throw of 12.42 meters was good for 11th and Braxton Philpott finished 15th with a measurement of 11.26 meters.

The trio also competed in the Discus with Williams posting a second-place finish with a throw of 47.61 meters. Philpott was fifth with a mark of 44.41 meters and Tate finished 12th with a throw of 36.99 meters.

Williams had another second place finish in the Hammer with a throw of 49.67 meters. Philpott's mark of 43.20 meters put him in fifth place, while Tate was 13th with a mark of 37.13 meters. Myles Mann placed sixth in the Javelin with a mark of 44.48 meters.

Cameron Stine, Carter Duncan and Jacob Atkinson battled in the Decathlon. Stine accumulated 5,893 points for second place. Duncan (4,589) placed seventh and Atkinson (4,441) was eighth.

The Flames continue the outdoor season with a trip to Raleigh, N.C., next weekend for the Raleigh Relays. The meet is scheduled to run from Thursday through Saturday.
