Men's Track Records Four Provisional Marks at Raleigh Relays

Jacob Hatcher was just shy of meeting the provisional time in the 1500-meter.

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Lee University men's track & field team had six athletes compete at the Raleigh Relays. The event was held at North Carolina State University's Paul Derr Track and Field Facility.

The Lee men recorded four NCAA Division II Provisional marks and missed another by a few seconds. Three of the provisional marks came in the 5000-meter.

Edimo Ninteretse was the top Lee performer in the 5000. He crossed the finish line at 13:57.39 for 50th place. Pierre Chauveau (14:09.34) was 98th and Aaron Himes stopped the clock at 14:15.07 (119th). All three finished ahead of the 14:17.53 standard. Ninteretse's time is sixth-best in DII, Chauveau sits at No. 11 and Himes is 15th. Parker Campbell was the fourth Lee runner to finish. He was 210th at 15:13.35.

Luke Gaddis placed 54th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:10.71. His time beat the provisional mark of 9:11.00 and put Gaddis at No. 4 on the DII performance list.

Jacob Hatcher completed the 1500-meter at 3:51.40 for 116th place. He was 3.24 seconds over the provisional time of 3:48.16.

The Flames return to action next weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the Tennessee Invite. The meet will be held April 4-5 at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
