Lady Flames Win Lee University - Fast Break Athletics Invitational

RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lee University women's track & field team placed first at the Lee University – Fast Break Athletics Invitational this weekend at the Ray Conn Sports Complex. The Lady Flames also met four new NCAA Division II Provisional standards.

Lee compiled 136.5 points to hold off second place Georgia Tech (103 points). Ashland University was third (73) and Cedarville University (54) finished fourth.

Estella Clemons met the provisional time of 2:11.62 in the 800-meter run with a third-place time of 2:11.56. Lily Hare placed fourth (2:12.21), Katie Beam finished fifth (2:12.30) and Abi Moore (2:16.62) was 12th.

Katie Krueger finished the 10000-meter run with a third-place time of 35:50.76 and beat the provisional time of 36:12.34. Lyndi Chapman was 10th with a time of 37:03.98. Karis Kelley (39:50.06) finished 18th with Zoe Arrington right behind at 19th (40:19.11).

Ashlyn Iliff was nine seconds under the provisional standard of 11:00.51 in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She crossed the finish line in first place at 10:51.33. Emily Liddle finished eighth (11:53.88) and Julia Halterman (12:15.32) was 13th.

Olivia Davidson posted a first-place mark of 42.31 meters in the javelin to beat the provisional mark of 42.12 meters. Sydney White finished third with a throw of 37.77 meters and Brinks was sixth with a measurement of 33.93 meters.

Hare and Ana Patricia Campos crossed the finish lines of their events under the provisional time but were unable to improve their times from earlier in the season. Hare's time of 4:29.46 in the 1500-meter run was 0.69 seconds slower than her time at the Raleigh Relays. Campos was 6.51 seconds behind her 5K time from the Lee University Invitational.

Joining Hare in the 1500 were Clemons, Beam and Moore. Clemons placed eighth at 4:30.38, while Beam (4:35.32) and Moore (4:39.49) were 10th and 14th, respectively.

Campos' time of 16:49.91 put her in ninth place in the 5000-meter run. Megan Adams finished 16th (17:11.31) and Kaylee Estridge was 20th (17:37.15).

Jydia Faucette, Maddox Mayfield and Janay Ryan each ran in the 100-meter dash. Faucette placed 10th with a time of 12.14 seconds. Mayfield was 13th (12.45) and Ryan finished 22nd (13.14). Mayfield also placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.95 seconds.

Liz Lannom was Lee's top performer in the 200-meter dash. She stopped the clock at 24.36 seconds for second place. Faucette (25.56) was 10th, Mayfield finished 11th (25.67) and White was 15th (26.03). Ane Peasley (26.83) finished 19th and Ryan was 30th (28.23).

Lannom was Lee's top finisher in the 100-meter hurdles. She placed fifth with a time of 14.33 seconds. Lily Brown placed eighth at 14.97 seconds with Peasley (15.07) in ninth. White's time of 16.27 seconds put her in 12th.

Brown and Iliff were Lee's representatives in the 400-meter hurdles. Brown placed seventh (1:06.62) and Iliff was 12th (1:09.16).

The 4x100-meter relay team of Peasley, Lannom, White and Faucette placed second with a combined time of 47.19 seconds. Hare, Campos, Moore and Clemons combined for third place with a time of 4:01.80.

Brynn Depinet cleared 3.76 meters to win the pole vault. Nicole Counter was fifth with a mark of 3.30 meters and Ayla Misavage went over 3.00 meters for sixth place. Faucette covered 11.06 meters to finish third in the triple jump.

Gracie Waite won the shot put with a mark of 13.69 meters. Samara Brinks was 10th at 9.99 meters and Davidson placed 11th with a throw of 9.66 meters. Waite added a second-place finish in the discus with a mark of 41.06 meters. Brinks placed third in the hammer with a measurement of 44.77 meters. Waite recorded a mark of 42.31 meters for eighth.

The Lady Flames travel to Atlanta next weekend to participate in the Georgia Tech Invitational. The two-day meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at George C. Griffin Track on the campus of Georgia Tech.
