Flames Produce Five New Provisional Marks At Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA/SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Lee University men's track & field team produced five new NCAA Division II Provisional performances this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Jacob Hatcher, Evan Moore and Edimo Ninteretse were Lee's top performers in the 1500-meter run and each beat the provisional time of 3:48.16. Hatcher finished second with a time of 3:44.59. Moore (3:44.99) was fifth and Ninteretse (3:46.29) placed seventh. Hatcher currently stands at No. 15 on the DII performance list. Moore is 18th and Ninteretse is No. 25.

Five more Flames participated in the 1500. Caleb Guthery stopped the clock at 3:48.53 (18th), Pierre Chauveau was 24th (3:50.51), while Aaron Himes (3:52.99), Parker Campbell (3:54.50) and Tal Old (3:57.62) rounded out Lee's finishers.

The Lee men recorded two more provisional marks from Luke Gaddis and Stephen Clark in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Gaddis placed fourth at 8:59.15 with Clark right behind in fifth (9:08.94) to beat the standard of 9:11.00. Gaddis' time is the 18th-best time posted in DII so far this season and Clark sits at No. 26.

Markel Kelly finished 97th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.55 seconds. Aiden Shaw, Eli Cobble, Cooper Giddens and David Johnson were Lee's representatives in the 400-meter dash. Shaw finished 19th at 48.04 seconds. Cobble (48.41) was 30th, Giddens placed 61st (49.67) and Johnson (50.95) was 78th.

The Flames had six runners complete the 800-meter run. Moore was the top runner at 1:52.57 (25th). Ninteretse placed 34th (1:53.26) and Hatcher (1:54.43) was 57th. Campbell (1:56.00) was 76th with Old (1:57.56) at 102nd and Ethan King (1:58.37) 109th. Elijah Moran completed the 5000-meter run at 14:48.42 to claim 10th place.

Isaac Iosia crossed the line at 15.24 seconds to finish 35th in the 110-meter hurdles. Cameron Stine was 46th (16.01). Iosia added a 43rd-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.86 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Cobble, Giddens, Moore and Shaw combined for a time of 3:21.15 to finish 23rd.

Jacob Salters covered 14.12 meters to place 24th in the triple jump. Camden Williams recorded a mark of 15.02 meters to place 17th in the shot put. Williams also finished ninth with a measurement of 48.89 meters in the discus. Braxton Philpott was 18th with a throw of 43.47 meters.

Carter Duncan was 11th with a throw of 51.63 meters in the javelin. Williams' throw of 49.08 meters put him in 15th.

Jacob Atkinson traveled to Sewanee to compete in the pole vault at the Mountain Laurel Invite. He cleared 4.10 meters to finish seventh.

The Flames are back in action at the beginning of May in the GSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The meet is set for May 1-3 at Lee's Ray Conn Sports Complex.
