BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its annual individual major award winners following the 2025 men's outdoor track & field season and Lee University's Pierre Chauveau was named Freshman Athlete of the Year. The awards were determined by the conference's head coaches.

Chauveau posted the second-best time in the 10000-meter run and the third-fastest time in the 5000-meter run. He was tenth overall among GSC runners in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:50.51. Chauveau's times in the 5000 and 10000 each met the NCAA DII Provisional in each.

Following the 2025 GSC Men's Track & Field Championships, Chauveau was named the Most Outstanding Freshman Performer. He also earned First Team All-GSC honors after winning the 10000-meter run and was Second Team All-GSC in the 5000-meter run.
